Industrial Electrician - 1

Work directly for a Lake County, Indiana area steel processing plant.Industrial Electrician - 1 Summary : *Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics.

• Ability to troubleshoot and correct electrical problems.*Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, as needed*Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists as needed.
• Use common hand and power tools.*Diagnose electrical or mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, using electrical schematics and / or repair manuals.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery as needed.*Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, AC and DC drives, servo control systems, 24VDC, 110VAC, and 460 VAC power systems*Perform other tasks as directed or neededRequirements : *High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Certification or Completion of a documented maintenance training program or trade certification.*5-7 Years Minimum Experience plus accredited schooling or certification*Experience with PLC troubleshootingSkills / Abilities : *Repairing - Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
• Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.*Installation - Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
• Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
• Multi limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down.

It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion.*Physical Abilities - Able to lift and carry 50 Ibs, climb ladders, work overhead while in a lift up to 50 ft.
