GENERAL JOB SUMMARY :
The Systems Administrator (SA) will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation Kratos computer systems. The Systems Admin. will handle the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and some networking components to maintain optimal performance and security. The role involves monitoring system activity, implementing upgrades, vulnerability management, and providing technical support to users. Collaboration with other IT staff and departments is essential to address technical issues and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain servers for local office
Perform in-place upgrades
Apply software patches and updatesManage support tickets and support IT projects for local officeCreate / disable user accounts
Create / modify / delete security groupsAdd / remove users to / from security groupsCreate / modify system folder structureFacilitate vendor support sessions to resolve issuesPerform hardware / software installations and upgradesMitigate vulnerabilities from weekly reportEnsure backup operations complete successfullyDocument processes for creation of departmental SOPsReport violations of corporate policiesSupport IT Director with network & system configurations, functionality, and securityGet training (as needed) to support essential job functionsEvaluate vendor products as necessary and make purchase recommendationsMonitor system performanceNotify IT Director of planned configuration changes to systemsMaintain and track all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) database, ensuring the proper custody is logged and maintainProperly dispose of obsolete and unusable GFEConduct semi-annual GFE inventories and as required by the customerSupervisory Responsibility
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience
US CitizenshipSecret security clearance desired, TS preferredMinimum of Five (5) or more years of experience with systems administrationKnowledgeable about DoD and DoN Information Assurance rules and regulationsExcellent written, verbal, and presentation skillsExceptional time management and flexibilityOrganized self-starter with minimal oversightCapability to work closely with multiple teams to accomplish tasksAbility to prioritize multiple tasksDedicated to producing excellent solutions consistentlyLinux administration experience preferredWork Environment / Physical Requirements
