This Position :

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Project Manager / Scrum Master to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both Agile project management and Scrum methodologies, and will be responsible for managing the delivery of multiple software development projects.

This role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through execution and delivery, while ensuring that our Agile processes are adhered to and continuously improved.

The Expectation : Project Management :

Project Management :

  • Lead and manage multiple software development projects from inception through completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties / vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Monitor and track project progress, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders.
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Facilitate and manage project change requests to ensure that all stakeholders are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget.

Scrum Master :

  • Facilitate daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Guide and coach the Scrum team on Agile practices and principles to improve self-organization.
  • Remove impediments and blockers to ensure the team can achieve their goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting transparency and open communication.
  • Work closely with Product Owners to manage the product backlog and ensure it is well-groomed and prioritized.
  • Monitor and track sprint progress, including team velocity and burndown charts.
  • Advocate for Agile methodologies within the organization and contribute to the overall Agile transformation.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration with external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of the team’s work.
  • Promote continuous improvement and help the team identify and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure the team delivers high-quality products that meet customer expectations and business objectives.

The successful ROLE NAME will have :

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum framework.
  • Experience in leading Kanban teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to facilitate team discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Confluence).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience in software development or IT-related projects.
  • Experience with remote or distributed teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

Success Metrics :

  • Successfully deliver software development projects on time, within scope, and within budget over a 12-month period.
  • Achieve improvement in team velocity and sprint completion rates within the first six months.
  • Maintain a project stakeholder satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Work Location and Arrangement :

gWorks is a hybrid work environment, and preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Omaha, Nebraska area.

However, highly qualified candidates who reside outside of the local area and are able to work remotely will also be considered.

  • For Omaha-Based Candidates : A hybrid work model, balancing remote work with in-office collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • For Remote Candidates : Full support for remote work from any US location.
