Summary
We are looking for a reliable, kind, energetic person who LOVES babies and children - and who wants to work as part of an amazing childcare center team! The position is part time, Monday - Friday from 2-6 pm, with the potential of becoming full time if desired. This person will move as needed between our classrooms to provide flexible support, and should be comfortable with children from babies through 5th grade.
- Pay is dependent on experience and education.
The Neighborhood Learning Center serves children from infant through 5th grade and we are an active, friendly, FUN place to work! In 2024 AND 2025, we were the WINNER of Best of Loudoun for Best Child Care Center!
Duties
Support and Supervision : Floaters supervise children and maintain staff-to-child ratios in various classrooms, ensuring children's safety at all times.Daily Routines : They assist with everyday activities such as naptime, mealtimes, hygiene (including diaper changes), and dressing.Classroom Support : Floaters help lead teachers with classroom activities, prepare materials, and clean up after activities and events.Environmental Maintenance : They are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment by closing classrooms at the end of the day, which includes sanitizing toys and basic housekeeping duties.Requirements
Flexibility and Adaptability : The ability to adapt quickly to different classroom dynamics, teaching styles, and age groups is essential.Patience : Necessary for working with young children and managing varied situations.Strong Communication Skills : Important for interacting with children, parents, and fellow staff.Reliability : Crucial for filling staffing gaps and ensuring continuity of care.Must be 18+ years old.Nice To Haves
Experience in a child care center setting.
