Role DescriptionWiser is looking for qualified candidates to support in areas of Land and Ground Cover Data Enrichment and Maintenance.
Comprehensive training is provided on the software, geographic information systems (GIS), and source materials needed to complete the work.
Note that ERDAS Imagine is a key component. Analysts, technicians, and engineers work as a team to collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret geographic information as needed for our clients.
ResponsibilitiesPerform digital feature extraction from multiple data sourcesAttribute digital data accuratelyUnderstand and follow complex project specific guidanceIndependently use technical resource and guidance documentsPerform data checks and other data quality controls including but not limited to attribution checks and managing associated documentsClean geographic data errors and omissionsApply cartographic editing techniques to include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotationSuggest and implement improved work methodsMinimum QualificationsU.
S. Citizen eligible to obtain a government security clearanceBachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing (RS), Information Technology, Environmental Science, Geosciences, or related discipline is preferred;
or equivalent combination education and experience.Experience using ERDAS Imagine, ArcGIS, and other related GIS softwareAbility to self-lead using customer guidanceAbility to meet production deadlines with minimal errorsAbility to communicate with a diverse team of peoplePreferred QualificationsPrevious experience using ERDAS ImagineExperience producing National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) standard and non-standard products and datasets is a plusPrevious knowledge of or doing Quality Control tasks for Janus 261, Janus 233 and / or Janus 248 Land and Ground Cover (VISNAV), Intermittent Water / Saturated Soils (IW / SS), and / or Land Subject to Inundation (LSI) experience is a plusU.
S. Government clearance - Secret or higherAbility to write code within ArcGIS, ArcPy, Python, etc.Exposure to SOCET GXP or Stereoscopic / 3D ImageryWork EnvironmentWork is performed remotely, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day).
