Under the supervision of the Maintenance & Engineering Lead, the E&I Technician provides technical expertise and support to the Maintenance & Engineering group at the Angelini Albany location.
This role mechanical, electrical and automation support to a regulated business.
This job is scheduled on a rotating 12-hour work shift.
Role
The position requires Intermediate to advance knowledge on electrical theories, electrical systems & components, electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC programming and automation skills.
This position is expected to perform multiple (some non-routine) tasks that in many cases require judgment and interpretation to successfully manufacture / package the product.
The person in this position performs preventive maintenance and calibration of plant electrical & controls systems, mechanical systems, instrumentation and requires analytical troubleshooting, and precise business decision making.
Specific Functions
Apply technical knowledge of the operation to serve as the primary source of technical support on power and automation systems functioning, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
provide recommendations / solutions for corrective actions and permanent
- Respond to floor calls for production issues involving electrical and automated equipment.
- Executes mechanical and electrical preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot electrical / controls and mechanical systems, equipment, and components.
- Support new equipment installation and upgrades.
- Install mechanical and electrical components / wiring systems and verify proper functioning.
- Perform the site’s instrument calibration.
- Adheres to common Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the executionof the work schedule and operational support.
- Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested
Professional Profile
- High school diploma
- Two to Three years of experience in a technical, manufacturing environment
- Technical degree in Electrical / Controls or related engineering / technical fields
- Operational knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment
- Knowledge of electrical safety and inspections, use of electrical test equipment (i.e. multimeter, clamp-on meter, megger, etc.).
- Intermediate Understanding of PLC coding, Schematic wiring, Ladder Logic and P&ID process diagrams.

- Basic knowledge of facility building utility systems (chillers, cooling tower, airbcompressors, vacuum Pumps, dust collector, air handling units, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of the operation of converting and packaging equipment, preferred
- Knowledgeable on Plant’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Able to read / interpret Electrical, Pneumatic, and Logic Schematics.
- Basic Math and computer skills.
- Mechanical Knowledge.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Root Cause Analysis (problem identification, analysis, creativity, application of corrective action).
