Career Transitions is supporting a global leader in the manufacture of plastic components who has a need to hire a Maintenance Engineering Manager for their team.

This position manages the maintenance and continuous improvement of all plant equipment and facilities, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong mechanical or chemical engineering background to lead a multidisciplinary team in providing reliable, high-quality maintenance and engineering support.

Maintenance Engineering Manager Key Responsibilities :

Leadership and Management :

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff.
• Establish and implement training programs for staff development and skill enhancement.
• Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and accountability.

Maintenance Operations :

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Oversee daily maintenance activities to ensure timely and effective resolution of equipment issues.
• Manage maintenance budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Engineering Projects :

• Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, including new equipment installations, process improvements, and facility upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to optimize processes and equipment performance.

Maintenance Engineering Manager Qualifications :

• Education : Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or a related field.
• Experience : 7 years of experience in maintenance and engineering roles, with at least 5 years in a managerial position.
• Technical Skills :
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial equipment, and facilities management.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Leadership Skills :
• Excellent leadership, team building, and project management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
