Systems Administrator
DescriptionWe are in the financial services industry and are based in NYC. We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our team.
Your role will be crucial in managing our Linux-based systems and configuring them in multiple environments. You will also be responsible for maintaining and improving our monitoring infrastructure, as well as supporting various other aspects of our Linux-based infrastructure.Responsibilities :
- Install and upgrade Enterprise Linux systems, ensuring smooth operation across our business.
- Configure Linux systems in multiple environments using Puppet, maintaining consistency and efficiency.
- Maintain and improve our monitoring infrastructure, utilizing tools such as Nagios, Smokeping, and Prometheus.
- Provide infrastructure for software installation, patching, and maintenance, using open-source tools such as Puppet and Foreman.
- Support our Linux-based infrastructure, including ZFS file servers, SQL servers, backup solutions and more.
- Use your skills in Linux Technologies, Puppet, Linux, and Python to enhance our system's performance and functionality.Requirements
- Must have a strong understanding of Linux Technologies
- Proficiency in Puppet is required
- Solid experience with Linux is necessary
- Python programming skills are essential
- Experience in the Financial Services industry is preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot system issues
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, are required
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting
- Must have good project management skills
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Must be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
