The Company

Our client is the UK and Irelands biggest supplier oftemporary traffic light equipment with 30 depots nationwide. Theyalso manufacture and hire various other products that are oftenused in tandem with temporary traffic signals products like CCTVcameras ANPR automatic workzone protection barriers and variablemessaging signs.

Traffic light operatives are the backbone of thebusiness. Day in and day out the operatives are on the front linewith customers you might say like the 4th emergency servicedelivering on the partnerships that have enabled them to continueto grow over the last 25 years.

With noexperience required our client invests in comprehensive trainingfor all new starters. They want to help you build a career not justa job and there are fantastic progression opportunities and a clearpathway.

TheRole :

As a Traffic LightOperative (TLO) your main role will be installing repairing andremoving temporary traffic lights. This tends to be working onbehalf of their hire customers some of whom will be contracted forlongterm works while others will be working more reactively inresponse to things like emergency utilities works or roadtrafficaccidents.

The nature of these emergency works means hours willvary. This can occasionally involve weekend work and nightwork.

Your main responsibilitiesinclude :

• Workingonsite Traffic Management plans.
• Basic fault finding and resolution of companyequipment.
• Signalmaintenance and battery exchanges.
• Adhering to all company policies procedures andsafe methods of working.
• You will promote a positive company imagewhilst at work wearing companybranded PPE.

The operative roles are fastpaced and active. Therecertainly wont be a dull day! Applicants for the role should bearin mind that the batteries in the traffic lights weigh 23kg each sothere can be quite a lot of manual handling involved daytoday.

Experience andqualifications :

A full UK driving license isessential as you will have a company van / truck whichwill be taken home at night. A safe place to park isessential.

Desirable :

• A previous role in maintaining or operatingtemporary traffic systems.
• A previous electrical background would bebeneficial.
