General Summary :
The Staff Accountant is involved in all general areas of financial recording and review. Day-to-day activities will range from simple and repetitive to support assistance with highly complex tax and accounting methodologies.
The right person will be cross-trained and utilized across all aspects of the accounting department divisions, be highly motivated, a team player, and willing to be developed and challenged in this fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Reporting and Compliance
- Recording of all financial transactions and review of the records
- May assist with the annual workpaper files, audits, data requests, and miscellaneous matters.
- May assistance with bank reconciliations.
- May assist with sales and use tax filing.
Accounts Payable Support
- Process and record invoices for payment
- Creates accounts payable reports as required.
- Process special check requests as instructed.
- May assist AP Supervisor with various projects
Accounts Receivable Support
- Apply rental payments within our software regularly.
- Research and processes charge backs, tenant disputes, bad checks, and other various tenant transactions.
- May audit tenant accounts to determine what the balance of the account consists of and provide documentation, etc.
- May prepare Tenant reconciliations

Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience of four years in Accounting.
- Motivated self-starter attitude and willingness to help out across the accounting department wherever needed.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and use of critical thinking skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work with interruptions.
- Proficient with MS Office including strong excel and data analytics and able to learn new software rapidly.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
