Job Title : Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch. This role involves customizing each unit according to customer needs, including cutting piping to length and brazing it together.

You will work off blueprints as necessary and assist in assembling the housings for the racks. This position requires a lot of physical activity, including bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day.

Some welding / fabrication training as well.

1st Shift : 5am-3 : 30pm Monday-Thursday

$20-$21 / hr

Responsibilities

• Brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch
• Cutting piping to length and assembling according to customer specifications
• Reading and working from blueprints
• Assembling housing units for racks
• Engaging in physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and twisting

Essential Skills

• Mechanical assembly experience
• Proficiency in brazing
• Ability to use hand tools
• Experience reading blueprints

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 3+ months of mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction experience
• Ability to use a tape measure accurately
• Mechanically inclined individuals such as plumbers or entry-level welders
• Experience in fabrication roles, including MIG welding on mild steel
• Experience in repairing machinery or working on cars

Work Environment

This role is based in a large manufacturing building where units are built in teams of 3-4 people. The environment is fast-paced and well-lit.

While the shop is kept clean, the nature of the work means you will get dirty. The hours are from 5 : 00am to 3 : 30pm, Monday through Thursday.

Although there is no air conditioning, fans are provided to maintain air flow. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required every day.
