Our Associate Systems Administrator at PTR is an advanced role responsible for researching and resolving the most difficult and complex problems that other support levels have been unable to resolve.

The Associate Systems Administrator will analyze and identify trends in technical issue reporting and develop preventive solutions.

The main objective of this role is to keep PTR's employees and technical systems up and running efficiently while providing quick and effective resolution of all escalated requests.

COMPENSATION

This position has a competitive compensation package combining base salary plus an annual bonus opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technical understanding of the various hardware, software and networking systems including active directory, Citrix, hardware management, virtualization & connectivity, IAM, security (spam filter, EDR management), and configuration management.
  • Maintaining an inventory of installed software, managing software licensing, and creating policies and procedures for upgrades.
  • Working with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensuring that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule.
  • Creating user accounts and managing access control based on company policies.
  • Mentoring other help desk personnel on hardware and software problem analysis.
  • Partnering with HR department for onboarding both onsite and remote / hybrid employees.
  • Troubleshoot, prioritize, and solve support issues relating to software, hardware, and networking problems for employees.
  • Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to IT requests and issues.
  • Effective time management, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Install personal computers (PCs) and related hardware.
  • Investigate hardware problems and perform repairs or coordinate with vendors as necessary.
  • Complete other projects or duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • MUST HAVE
  • 5+ years of experience in direct end-user support or a related technical role.
  • Prior IT troubleshooting experience and familiarity with products such as Windows OS, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to work on your own, while reporting back to team leader / manager on any issues or concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to independently research a problem.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic computer hardware, software, and networks.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness.
  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player.
  • NICE TO HAVE
  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field.
  • Ability to deploy solutions to new problems.
  • Experience working within different cloud technologies.
  • Experience working with Identity Access Management, permissions, and the re-imaging of a variety of devices.
