Overview
POSITION OVERVIEW
The role of the WAF Security Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, analysis and tuning of FNF's web application firewall (WAF).
Works closely with internal teams to identify, correct, and create multiple Firewall rules to protect WAF covered applications from outside hacker attempts going around any WAF protections.
LOCATION
Jacksonville, FL (HQ) preferred or 100% remote
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implements information security controls and preventing hackers from infiltrating company information and jeopardizing programs
- Maintains and controls access to security systems and utilizes applicable encryption methods to maintain the company's firewall
- Proactively handles security vulnerabilities and responds to active threats
- Researches attempted efforts to compromise security protocol and recommends solutions.
- Creates information security documentation related to work area and completes requests in accordance with company requirements
- Responds to information security-related questions and inquiries using established information security tools and procedures
- Resolves and / or performs follow through to resolve all information security issues and questions
- Identifies opportunities and executes plans to improve workflow and understands and quantifies business impacts of those improvements for communication to management
- Provides status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures
- Other related duties assigned as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- Requires 5+ years of experience in firewall security engineering or related work experience
- Web application firewall (WAF) expertise
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Akamai, CloudFlare, FortiWeb or equivalent Cloud WAF experience
- Python and / or PowerShell scripting experience
- Knowledge of networks technologies (protocols, design concepts, access control)
- Knowledge of security technologies (encryption, data protection, design, privilege access, etc.)
- Proficiency in time management, decision making, and planning skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency in reporting, establishing goals and objectives, standards, priorities and schedules
