Complex Director of Human Resources - DoubleTree Crystal City

The Doubletree Crystal City and Embassy Suites Crystal City are looking for a Complex Director of Human Resources to oversee both properties!

Boasting 627 elegant guest rooms, 31,000 square feet of meeting space and 5 outlets, the Doubletree Crystal City will be home base for this exciting Director of Human Resources role in the DC Metro area.

This position will also oversee the team member engagement, culture, compliance, and organization in the Human Resources operations at the Embassy Suites Crystal City and guide this operation to success.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who is able to tackle multiple projects, has a talent for training and developing others, and is exceptional in regard to building teams, maintaining relationships, and financial expertise.

At least 2-3 years of Director of HR experience is preferred. Union negotiations and union management experience is a plus.

What will I be doing?

As a Director of Human Resources, you would be responsible for directing and administering the Human Resources function in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks :

  • Oversee and administer all Human Resources functions including recruiting, training and development, wage / benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements, team member relations, labor relations and contract compliance, performance evaluations, workers compensation and safety, affirmative action compliance, employment processes, and general leadership guidance.
  • Provide assistance, guidance and counseling to the General Manager, leadership staff, and line team members.
  • Develop, implement and administer policies and programs related to the management of all hotel personnel to ensure the maintenance of a positive, productive, fair and consistent employment environment.
  • Manage all team member and labor relations; if hotel has a collective bargaining agreement, this will include negotiating contracts and settlements, handling grievances, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Participate in and lead meetings.
  • Recruit, interview, and train team members.
