Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic, quality-driven Chef de Cuisine to open our new Italian trattoria in Washington, DC (one block from the White House!).
You will be able to create your own phenomenal team in an upscale, high volume restaurant with an emphasis on outstanding food and service in a sophisticated, yet comfortable environment.
The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for all aspects of Culinary operations including food preparation, menu execution, ordering / receiving, vendor relations, hiring, and training.

Chef de Cuisine Qualifications + Responsibilities :
- 5+ years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef in a high volume, upscale, scratch kitchen environment
- 10 years of experience in Culinary leadership roles, demonstrating progression and growth of responsibilities
- Expertise with Italian cuisine is required
- A results-driven operator with a track record of achieving financial targets and growing sales
- Commitment to providing exceptional guest service, and creating memorable experiences for all patrons
- Expertise in staff development, including coaching, training, and leading teams, as well as recruiting and hiring
- Highly skilled and comfortable utilizing technology platforms such as POS, inventory management software, scheduling / employee communication platforms
- Direct oversight and management of all Culinary operations, including Sous chef, line cooks, prep team, and porters
- Responsible for effective cost management of food and labor
- Schedule includes working nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hands-on management style, comfortable (and happy!) working shoulder to shoulder with their team
