Summary
Childcare AdventuresEarlyLearningCenterEducationLeadTeacherisresponsibleforprovidinganearlychildhoodeducationprogramforagroupof 3 yearoldchildrenthatmeettheearlychildhoodeducationstandardsoftheChildcare Adventures.
TheLeadTeacheraddressesallareasofdevelopmentandmeetstheindividualneedsofeachchild.Inpartnershipwithparents,theLeadTeacherobservesandassesseschildren ’ sdevelopment,planschildren ’ scurriculumbasedonchilddevelopmentknowledge,designsthelearningenvironment,andimplementsandsupervisesdevelopmentallyappropriatelearningactivities.
Duties
PRINCIPALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Developanindoorandoutdoorlearningenvironmentthatprovidesavarietyofageappropriateexperiencestofosterchildexplorationanddiscovery.
2. Useacurriculumframeworkandcurriculumtoolsthatprovideopportunitiesforeachchildtomeetlearningexpectationsthatpreparechildrenforsuccessinschool.
3. Establishadailyroutinethatincludestimeforsmallgroupandlargegroupactivities,encouragescreativeexpression,andincorporateshealthandnutritiondevelopmentaspartofdailyactivities.
4. Modelappropriateandrespectfulbehaviortothechildrenandfellowstaff.
5. Workwithparentstoplanculturallyappropriatecurriculumthatsupportschildren ’ slearningstylesandinterests.
6. Assureparentinputintomenus.
7. Supportchildren’ ssocialandemotionaldevelopmentthroughpositivechildguidanceapproachesandthedevelopmentofpositiverelationshipsintheclassroom.
8. Assesseachchild’ slearningneedsthroughscreening,observation,ongoingassessmentandthedevelopmentofindividuallearningplans.
ReportonatleastonechildoutcometotheDepartmentofEarlyLearning.
9. LeadtheclassroomteamthatcanincludeanAssistantTeacher,ClassroomAideandFamilySupportSpecialistincollaborativelyworkingwithchildrenandfamilies.
Providedirectiontostaffasneeded.
10. Haveparentconferenceswitheachchild ’ sparent(s)foraminimumofthreehoursayeartopartnerinlearninggoals,developcoordinatedlearningsupportstrategiesandinvolvetheparent(s)inthechild ’ spreschoolexperience.
11. Establishandmaintainconfidential,accurateandtimelyinformationoneachchild ’ sdevelopmentandprogramparticipation.Maintainconfidentiality.
12. Incorporateparentingtrainingandparentleadershipinprogramactivities.13. Usevideocommunicationsystemsandclassroomvideorecordingsforinter sitecommunication,professionaldevelopmentandpotentialparentleadershiptraining.
14. Participateincommunityassessmentactivitiesandanannualprogramself assessment.Useinformationinongoingprogramimprovement.
Requirements
PreferredQualificationsandSkills :
1. ABachelor’ sDegreeorhigherdegreeinearlychildhoodeducation.
2. Demonstratedabilitytobuildpositiverelationshipswithchildren.
3. Demonstratedabilitytoworkefficientlywithinateam.
4. Demonstratedcomputerskills,organizationalskillsandcommitmenttofollowthroughontaskswithaminimumofsupervision.
5. Demonstratedabilitytousesoundjudgmentincriticalandadversesituations.
6. Demonstratedabilitytoworkwithpeople,includingparents,socialserviceprovidersandschooldistrictpersonnel.
