In this role you will be responsible for providing functional and technical expertise to projects and assignments pertaining to critical Business units in the organization.

You will bring both engineering and IT perspective to the services and state of the art solutions provided by the department.

ISO New England's Forecasting & Outage Coordination Applications team is focused, passionate, team-oriented, and results-driven.

How you will make an impact :

  • Planning, coordinating, and performing complex technical assignments related to software applications in support of the Forecasting, Outage Scheduling and Operations Support groups
  • Analyzing, designing, programming, troubleshooting, recommending solutions and implementing fixes associated with Market System applications
  • Assisting in the development of RFPs and evaluation of results
  • Coordinating with consultants and vendors on project deliverables
  • Lead IT Support activities for one or more business areas
  • Follow the Change Management and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) policies and procedures during the course of the work

What you need to be successful in this role :

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Market Systems Experience within the electric utility industry or Programming experience in Electric Utility Industry
  • Working knowledge of bulk power system operations and energy market operations
  • Oracle, SQL and PL / SQL experience
  • Experience with Java or Microsoft .Net and associated technologies such as J2EE / Web Technologies, Spring boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, Apache Struts, Microsoft Web frameworks, XML, JMS, Apache ActiveMQ, Apache Ant , Apache Camel etc.
  • Hands on work experience with Kubernetes, DevOps, GitOps and Docker technologies
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a Team Lead
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with challenging situations and communicating different problems to a wider audience
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
  • Desired not required
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience / Knowledge related to Load Forecasting
