Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program

National Grid's Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry.

Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we'll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one - putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US.

Following Orientation, you'll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

Information Technology and Digital Graduate Rotations

Graduates in our IT & Digital team will take part in an 18-month exploration. Your first 6-months will be in the role outlined below and you will return to this role following two broadening 6-month placements designed to provide you a breadth of experience within your functional area and accelerate your progression at National Grid.

These placements will provide you with the opportunity to solve complex problems and focus on growth that will transform the energy sector as we know it.

About the Position

As an Associate Analyst, you will help with the delivery of service management through strategic partnership with suppliers to produce value for internal customers and other stakeholders while enforcing and governing the provisions of the application support and management of services contract.

This includes transparency to status, escalating risk, and issues appropriately, and advocating the overall performance of the solution.

What You'll Do

  • Support the service operations for a defined portfolio of products, applications, and enterprise platforms.
  • Work with project delivery and service transition teams,participate in defining all service operations documentation, including the enduring support model for new services being rolled out into production, application and support (run the business) costs for products, Applications and platforms and ensuring Design-To-Operate principles are optimized to mitigate any long-term risks.
  • Support the operational relationship with, and performance of, suppliers, vendors, application or platform support partners, and other service providers to ensure contractual agreements are met.
  • Assist with proactive identification of problems and corresponding corrective and preventive actions, to prevent disruption to the business.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Communications from an accredited institution is preferred
  • Graduated between May 2024 and June 2025
  • Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 2, 2025 or July 7, 2025
  • Valid driver's license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy
  • Applicants for the Graduate Development Program must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)

It would be awesome if you had

  • Previous experience with ITIL, Security, ServiceNow, Salesforce.com
  • Previous experience with JIRA or Confluence
  • Previous experience with technical writing or Project Portfolio Management (PPM)

Waltham, Massachusetts $66,000 - $78,000 a year

Buffalo, Albany, and Syracuse, New York$59,000 - $69,000 a year

Brooklyn, Hicksville, Melville, New York$71,000 - $83,000 a year

Please note US Colleagues must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island and Vermont.

As a National Grid employee, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
