AHMG Cardiovascular Surgery APRN or PA-C at Celebration - Full -Time, Non-Surgical

Overview General Summary : + Under the direction and supervision of the surgeon, the Cardiovascular Surgery PA-C or APRN-RNFA will perform cardiovascular surgical preparation procedures, per-operative and post-operative procedures, and assists in performing cardiovascular surgical procedures.

• Provide patient and family with pre-operative education, answer questions regarding surgery, recovery and risk factor modification.
• Obtain and perform history and physical examinations. + Record and interpret pertinent data (labs, diagnostic studies, discharge summaries, progress notes, etc.

including writing orders and discharges. + First assisting in cardiovascular surgery, vein and radial artery harvesting, first assisting with CABG, valve, aortic and thoracic surgery.

• Ability to perform general peri-surgical procedures in the hospital and clinic. + Admit patients, attend rounds, complete discharge summaries with medication reconciliation and appropriate follow-up.
• Management of patients both pre- and post-implantation for Ventricular Assist Devices and Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation.
• Management of patients undergoing Trans Catheter Valve Procedures. Schedule Details : + Monday through Friday + Weeknight on call responsibilities with rotating weekend coverage + Campuses covered : AdventHealth Orlando & AdventHealth Celebration Required Education / Experience : + Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or APRN + Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) experience + Practicing experience as a cardiothoracic / cardiovascular surgery PA or APRN-RNFA Knowledge and Skills Required : + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
