The RoleThe Project Manager is the primary single point of contact for large-scale deployments with significant complexity, unique requirements or that qualify as a Special .

Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the customer's implementation to meet scope, timing and budget expectations and overall project outcomes.

This role participates in and leads the completion of complex solutions to meet customer needs & is engaged according to PMO criteria and standards.

LocationThis role is Work from Home and can be based anywhere in the United States.The Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop, plan and manage implementation of activities for highly complex projects / programs for external / internal customers throughout their lifecycleAccountable for timely project completion and delivery.

Analyzes work plans and schedules and develops project progress and status reports (including executive status updates)Responsible for resource requirements / allocation.

Coordinate and facilitate project meetings.Develop and distribute timely meeting minutes; to include track / manage action items and verify they are incorporated into the program schedule and that deliverables are met on time.

Assess / Manage risk, impacts and potential alternatives and escalate as required to the appropriate level of management.

Set program objectives and establish clear measures to successfully define and meet project deliverables and timelines. Utilize the change control process to track schedule changes.

Familiar with optical fiber testing and deliveryAble to read OTDR and PMT test results to identify events, such as connectors, splices, micro-bends, etc.

Can produce recommendations to Field Technicians and Outside Plant Engineers for improvements or modifications to resolve out-of-spec issuesAble to provide similar instructions for improvement to the customer when customer has an issueCapable of reading and understanding KMZ and fiber mapsUnderstands different cable sizes and glass types along with buffer tubes and color schemesKnowledgeable with Outside Plant construction and splicing, including engineering, permitting, and boring, duct placement, cable pulling, splicing, and testingActs as mentor and team leader to other teammatesActs as project team leader & accountable for successful overall project completionThrough partnership with other staff organizations, define Key Performance Indicators (KPI), training, process standards, policies, and procedures.

Associated with complex projects.What We Look For in a CandidateMinimum : Bachelor’s Degree and / or 5+ years of related experienceImplementation experience with multiple of the following technologies : Fiber installation, DWDM, and Transport / WavePreferred : Background in OSP buildsExperience leading multiple complex projects in the technology industryProject Management Professional or PRINCE2 Certification6+ years in project management experienceImplementation experience with the following technologies : Fiber testingCompensationThe starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location.

Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
