Position Overview
The Credit Sales Director will be responsible for managing and tracking a robust sales pipeline of prospective corporate buyers and channel partners buying on behalf of their clients.
The ideal candidate will reside within a commuting distance to New York City as the preference is for this to be an on-site position.
However, given an ideal alignment of skills, remote work outside of New York City will be considered.
Core Responsibilities
- Sales pipeline management
- Manage all active customer prospects through relationship building, requests and RFPs, KYC and onboarding processes
- Conduct initial and deeper diligence calls with buyers and channel partners (brokers, banks, physical traders, portfolio managers, etc.)
- Utilize Salesforce to log and track all sales leads and opportunities
- Leverage product team partners for expertise and documentation including ERPAs and ISDAs
- Partner with Marketing team to develop product marketing and collateral
- Credit inventory management
- Responsible for tracking credit inventory, including pre-issuance orders, spot transactions, and marketplace positions
- Partner with teams across the organization including product, finance and accounting on inventory positions, valuation, etc.
- Identify and manage operational risks including process inefficiencies and potential disruptions, and identify and implement effective internal controls to ensure resilience
- Manage marketplace positions for price discovery; close partnership with finance
- Lead generation
- Develop a robust customer pipeline for Chestnut’s IFM and ARR credits through relationship-building with both direct buyers and channel partners
- Leverage relationships as well as carbon credit corporate buyer data to generate lists, work with marketing on campaigns, and follow up with qualified prospects
- Track and analyze public information and data sources to inform lead generation targets and lists
- Represent the Company at events, liaising with industry groups and outside stakeholders
- Provide insights into changing market trends, ecosystem dynamics, and key learnings
Desired Qualifications & Experiences
- 6+ years sales pipeline management, preferably with carbon market product
- Expertise with a CRM pipeline management tool, Salesforce preferred

Salary Description
The base salary range for this position is subject to the chosen candidate’s experience, skills, certifications and qualifications, determination of which is made in the sole discretion of Chestnut Carbon.
All employees are eligible to participate in health, insurance, and 401K plan benefits on their first day of employment.
Chestnut Carbon pays 100% of the cost of the employees’ health / dental / vision insurance. During each fiscal year of employment, employees will be eligible to earn a discretionary annual incentive bonus and equity, based on company and individual performance targets.
