Director of Diplomatic Sales - Waldorf Astoria New York

After undergoing a transformative restoration, The Waldorf Astoria New York is set to reignite its magnetic allure. The Waldorf Astoria New York is seeking a Director of Diplomatic Sales to unveil a new era of luxury which embodies the spirit of New York City.

Responsibilities :

  • Representing the Waldorf Astoria New York in the engagement with high profile diplomatic clients by soliciting, responding to, and negotiating sales which include but are not limited to room sales, banquet sales, catering sales, and other sales of hotel services.
  • Answering complex and challenging questions relative to sales and operations of the hotel.
  • Negotiating contracts with customers and commission agreements with third parties.
  • Conducting outside sales activities to discuss business opportunities.
  • Directing site visits for customers and participating in trade shows, industry events, and customer events.

The following outlines the required qualifications for the Director of Diplomatic Sales :

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working at a luxury property.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a senior sales role representing the Diplomatic market at a luxury property with a proven record of driving performance in said market.
  • Ability to travel with little to no notice.

This is an on-property role based in New York City.

The annual salary range for this role is $150,000 - $170,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience.
