Estimator- Land Development

The right candidate will analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, material, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Perform quantity take-offs to prepare detailed estimates in accordance with drawings and specificationsSolicit updating pricing from trade partners on a bi-weekly basis to understand market trendsBe proficient in, have the ability to learn, Plan Swift / BluBeamInterpret civil drawings and specifications to determine project requirementsMaintain computer databases (pricing, estimates, items, etc.

to include preparing and maintaining a graph of costs for budgetary purposesAssist with maintaining take-offs, item cost, and contract pricingAssist in cost negotiationsField phone calls from potential new vendors as well as field staffObtain vendor quotesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyAbility to work overtimeEducation and / or Experience

• Two to four years of related experience and / or training in the residential construction industry
• Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email
• Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision

• The noise level is generally moderate*Preferred Qualifications
• Associate's degree from a four-year college or university in Construction preferred
• Two to Four years of related experience and / or training in the single family residential housing industry
• Knowledge of estimating software such as Blue Beam
• Effective communication skills
