SUMMARY : The Maintenance Coordinator Part Time Temporary will understand and model the mission of NSO. The Maintenance Coordinator will understand and practice NSO’s policy on confidentiality in respect to all NSO information.
The Maintenance Coordinator will exhibit professional behavior and teamwork in all facets of work at NSO.
The Maintenance Coordinator plays a critical role in providing exceptional service to our donors and will be responsible for the first impression of the community, clients, and donors.
The Maintenance Coordinator has the opportunity many times each day to leave a positive impression on our donors and residents.
The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for driving a variety of vehicles including a box truck, bus, and / or company car.
Responsible for weekly in-kind donation pickups, supply pickups, deliveries, organization of donation sites, and / or pick up of special donations at homes and businesses.
This position will be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks associated with lawn care support of the NSO properties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Manage lawn maintenance.
- Move appliances and furniture to assist in moving our residents in or out of NSO housing sites.
- Make weekly pick-ups at residential or commercial sites, includes weighing, loading, and delivery of food orders for our retail recovery program and distribution to housing facilities.
- Load and unload trucks at multiple facilities of the agency and place items in a location designated by the Facility Manager.
- Furnish the Facilities Manager with information concerning the condition of donations received, safety hazards, and supply needs.
- Inspect delivery vehicles and ensure the safety and security of the loading and unloading process. Maintain and service vehicles as needed.
- Plan / map routes to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather / road conditions.
- Review and follow agency safety policies, programs, and procedures.
- Pick up trash and maintain clean facilities and grounds.
- Protect NSO property in possession, including company vehicle.
- Effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and volunteers.
- Ability to follow directions of the supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This temporary position, 20 hours weekly and is scheduled to last for 8 weeks, but it could be longer.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum Requirement : Must be 21 years of age or older. Must have a valid driver’s license Clearance of background check and drug screen.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position, and therefore exempt from the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Act.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
- Requires clear, oral, and written skills.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
- Ability to work with limited oversight, while projecting a professional image in speech and demeanor in interactions with others in multiple venues and scenarios.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 lbs. and in excess of 100 lbs. with a two-man lift.
- Requires the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Requires the ability to work independently.
- Requires climbing, balancing, talking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, acuity-near, acuity-far, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.
- Requires knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. This includes basic to intermediate computer skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS :
- Most of the time is spent working outdoors while loading and unloading the truck. Often work indoors while setting up goods and talking with donors, clients, and employees.
- Work in a closed vehicle that is heated and air-conditioned.
- Often exposed to very hot or cold temperatures when working outdoors.
- This job requires physical activity performing strenuous activities.
