GearUp District Manager
Pennsylvania State Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs
Salary Range : $72,353-$101,294
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Community Development, or related field required, Master’s Degree preferred.
2. Prior experience in areas related to school / community relations, working with parents, and / or teaching students. Prior knowledge of and / or experience with the Allentown School District or a Local Education Agency (LEA) is preferred.
3. Experience working in federal grant programs, the ability to analyze program data and analyze it to improve processes and procedures and developing higher education and business partnerships.
4. Collaborative program planning and facilitation experience is required.
5. Ability to work in a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive manner.
6. Satisfactory work record & criminal / child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
7. Bilingual preferred.
8. Demonstrated organizational and data management skills.
9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Allentown School District Board of Directors deem appropriate and acceptable.
Summary
The District Manager is responsible for supervising district GEAR UP employees, ensuring all GEAR UP activities are aligned with the district’s action plan, coordinating GEAR UP services with schools, planning with district administrators GEAR UP activities, and are responsible for submitting timely documentation, Match, and invoices.
Work with GEAR UP staff to facilitate the development of and implementation of an annual action plan, ensures that all data is entered into the database on a weekly basis, maintains appropriate, accurate, and complete records, oversees the district’s GEAR UP budget, submits district invoices with complete documentation for payment, and attends PA State GEAR UP meetings.

E ssential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Management Responsibilities :
- Collaborates with the GEAR UP staff to facilitate the development of the annual action plan and identifies appropriate school district personnel to participate
- Oversee the day-to-day GEAR UP-4 counseling work
- Collaboratively coordinates and oversees all implementation activities with the GEAR UP staff
- Responsible for overseeing district data collection on a daily basis
- Maintains appropriate, accurate and complete records
- Responsible for collaborating with the GEAR UP staff in the development of the monthly GEAR UP report
- Responsible for ensuring that all GEAR UP verbal and written communications are sending the same message to GEAR UP and school district staff
- Participate in on-site evaluation meetings
- Collaborate with program manager and external evaluators to schedule on-site evaluation visits
Fiscal Responsibilities :
1.Responsible for overseeing the school district budget
2.Responsible for ensuring that all purchases and activities are allowable under the GEAR UP guidelines.
3.Responsible for submitting school district invoices and all required documentation by the 15th of each month to PA GEAR UP
4.Responsible for submitting the school district’s and their Collective Impact Partner’s matching funds to the PA GEAR UP
5.Attend regional quarterly PASSHE Meeting and monthly district GEAR UP staff meetings
6.Travel to meetings at the school district and other GEAR UP partner locations
7.Attend the GEAR UP Capacity Building and Annual Conferences when applicable
