Job Summary
Exercises independent judgment in the performance of waived and moderate complexity laboratory tests, equipment maintenance and QC / QA procedures.
Performs all functions of a Clinical Lab Assist II or Clinical Lab Assist III with a high degree of proficiency which may include phlebotomy, preparation of patient specimens, clerical duties and special collection procedures depending on location.
Works with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION
H.S. diploma or equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Must meet one of the following :
- At least four (4) years directly relevant experience with at least one (1) of these as a Clinical Lab Assistant III, Technical Lab Assistant III or Laboratory Specimen Technician III at TriCore.
- Associate's Degree with coursework in biological and chemical sciences with at least two (2) years of relevant experience.
- Four (4) years combined relevant experience and education with at least one (1) year of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree with coursework in biological and chemical sciences.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Depending on location, may require a grade of average of the alphanumeric typing test. (4,000 5,999 key strokes).
PREFERENCES
- Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program.
