Job Overview
The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati seeks one Instructor - Educator faculty position which will begin during the 2025-2026 academic year.
Specifically, this position will support the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Birth age 5 associate and bachelor's degree program which is a 100% Asynchronous Online Program.
This position is a combination of teaching and program coordination. While instruction is 100% online and asynchronous, the position requires a scheduled on-campus presence on the University of Cincinnati’s main campus and occasional in-person meetings in Columbus.

Primary teaching responsibilities will be to teach undergraduate courses in the ECE program consistent with program needs for expertise in the areas of Infant & Toddler Care and Education, Preschool Teaching, and Administration of Early Childhood Programs.
Primary program coordination responsibilities include curriculum maintenance and development, support for adjunct faculty, and student success support.
Essential Functions
- Teach undergraduate courses incorporating constructivist theory and Developmentally Appropriate Practices related to children birth age 5, and / or other content consistent with candidate expertise.
- Use best practices in online education e.g., RSI with students, Discussion Board protocols, microteaching using Kaltura or similar video application.
- Serve as liaison with UCO (UC Online Instructional Design Team) and CECH OITDL (Office of Innovative Technology and Learning Design).
- Support students with practicum placements and required paperwork.
- Participate in program service including program meetings, state and university reporting, data collection and management, and program improvement and development work.
- Contribute service to School of Education and / or University committees.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the School’s Diversity Equity Inclusion & Justice framework.
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Earned master's degree in early childhood education or equivalent field.
- Minimum 3 years teaching / leadership experience in an early childhood environment.
- Demonstrated success teaching online.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience with current best practices in instructional strategies / methods in birth age 5 education consistent with the ECE constructivist program curriculum and NAEYC Standards for Early Childhood Professional Preparation Programs.
- Demonstrated capacity for contribution to the service expectations (e.g., board or committee membership).
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in education.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Connections / relationships with Ohio educational organizations (e.g., OCCRRA, Ohio Department of Children and Youth, Ohio Department of Education)
- T.E.A.C.H. Scholarship background knowledge
- Contributions to program and course development and design, including online instruction and use of instructional technologies.
- Experience teaching and / or supervising preservice teacher candidates in higher education.
- Experience with Canvas or similar LMS.
- Experience with data collection systems (e.g., Qualtrics or Watermark SLL) for continuous program improvement.
- Experience teaching in diverse settings with mixed abilities.
- Knowledge of anti-bias teaching strategies and pedagogies.
