We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage payroll functions for both salaried employees and 1099 contractors.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in QuickBooks, skilled in Excel.
Responsibilities :
- Payroll Processing : Accurately process payroll on a bi-weekly basis for both salaried employees and 1099 contractors using QuickBooks and Paychex.
- Data Entry and Verification : Enter payroll data, verify timesheets, and ensure all employee data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Reporting and Reconciliation : Generate payroll reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and assist with month-end close activities.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
- Benefits and Deductions : Manage employee deductions and benefits contributions, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other voluntary deductions.
- Excel Analysis : Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze payroll data, create custom reports, and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Employee Support : Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, tax questions, and other related concerns.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience, with a focus on handling both W-2 and 1099 employees.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Attention to detail.
