We are seeking a dedicated and qualified ABA Teacher to join our team in Bloomfield, New Jersey. This position is for the Extended School Year (ESY) program and may potentially renew for the New School Year (NSY) towards the end of the ESY period.
As an ABA Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques.
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized educational programs based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
- Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, focusing on skill acquisition and behavior management
- Utilize data collection systems to track student progress and make data-driven instructional decisions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement behavior intervention plans and supports
- Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluations to monitor student performance and adjust instruction accordingly
- Provide training and support to paraeducators and other staff members involved in the implementation of ABA strategies
- Maintain regular communication with parents / guardians regarding student progress and goals
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to special education and ABA practices
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid New Jersey Teacher of Handicap certification or Special Education certification
- Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis techniques
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles and methodologies
- Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior support techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders
Additional Information : This is a temporary position for the Extended School Year program, with the potential for renewal for the New School Year towards the end of the ESY period.
The ESY program will run from June 28th to August 3rd, Monday through Thursday, from 7 : 45 AM to 1 : 15 PM. The program will be closed on Fridays, as well as on July 3rd and 4th.
