Project Manager Transportation Electrification
Our client's Grid Edge Engineering team is entering a pivotal phase of implementing new strategies for EV charging programs, focusing on managed charging and demand response to optimize grid efficiency.
This role will lead the design and execution of demonstration projects and pilot programs following extensive research and strategic planning by the team.
This role is a hybrid model for candidates located near Portland, Oregon.
Project Manager Transportation Electrification Responsibilities
- Define project scope, plans, and testing strategies to ensure projects deliver actionable insights and scalability assessments for full-scale deployment.
- Lead the execution of test plans, overseeing integration of EV charging equipment with software platforms and utility systems, resolving technical challenges, and driving solutions.
- Evaluate project outcomes by analyzing data from chargers and meters, providing crucial insights for decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with the transportation electrification team to assess project viability and scalability, focusing on customer-side administration and operational aspects.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, assigning and coordinating tasks with 3rd party vendors and internal teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
Project Manager Transportation Electrification Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (electrical, civil, mechanical, etc.) from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in engineering roles, preferably within utilities or companies involved in transportation electrification projects.
- Proven expertise in test engineering or product engineering, with the ability to conceptualize and launch new products or customer programs.
- Familiarity with EV charging hardware, software platforms, and utility integration, including knowledge of bi-directional charging technologies.
- Experience working with or within utility companies, understanding their role in EV infrastructure and grid management.
- Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting data from technical systems to derive actionable insights.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and drive them to successful completion.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and voice technical opinions confidently.
Preferred :
- Previous experience at companies in the EV charging sector or similar organizations involved in transportation electrification projects.
- Familiarity with software platforms used in EV charging systems, although direct software development skills are not required.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving project priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Compensation : $68-$78 / hr. (DOE)
