The Hardware Resources division is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team and become a key contributor to our continued rapid growth.
The Sr. Manager of Human Resources is directly responsible for the overall improvement, administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Team, Managers, and all levels within the organization while supervising a four-person staff.
This is a very hands-on position that will work daily with employees at all levels on various personnel matters. The position will report to the CFO with a strong dotted line to the CEO.
This role is not a fit for someone whose experience is primarily in recruiting or talent acquisition. It is a role that works with all departments in the company and oversees the full employee cycle.
In addition, the role leans heavily toward tactical (hands-on) responsibilities with some strategic aspects as well.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain positive employee relations by being accessible while providing assistance, guidance, and coaching as needed to management and employees
- Periodically review and make recommendations to executive management for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters
- Work closely with the Top Knobs division Human Resources team to ensure coordination of approach and administration
- Work closely with the PrimeSource division Human Resources team to ensure coordination of approach and administration where applicable
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure compliance
- Full responsibility for the overall management and execution of payroll and benefits
- Responsible for compliance with regard to all relevant Federal and State laws, personnel matters; 401k audit assistance, FLSA, ACA, E-Verify, and more
- Assist Executive Management in the annual performance review process as well as the preparation and administration of wage and salary programs
- Consult with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by Executive Management
- Recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff development
- Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures
- Assist with recruitment efforts for various departments and positions
- Design and administer new-employee orientations
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Federal / multi-state laws and compliance
- Benefits administration : Medical, Dental, Life, Disability, FSA / HSA, 401k & Worker’s Compensation
- Employee Relations and all phases of the investigation lifecycle
- Payroll and compensation programs for hourly and salaried employees, including weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles
- Procedures and processes for employees, contractors, and seasonal staff
- Ability to utilize good judgement and discretion, especially with sensitive matters
- Self-motivated, results-driven professional who consistently delivers high-quality work
- Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
- Detail oriented and internal customer driven
- Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with HRIS systems ADP WorkforceNow experience would be a big plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as presentation skills
- Must be an excellent multi-tasker with the ability to handle competing priorities
- Excel at working in a collaborative team environment across functions and teams
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed (approximately 25% travel)
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
Education and Employment Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline
- PHR / SPHR or SHRM certification desired
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 2 years in leadership

In addition to these locations, we operate 10 warehouses across the United States.
Hardware Resources works closely with its sister division (Top Knobs), which operates from New Jersey. The two divisions work together in a coordinated fashion on many topics.
