Job Description
Job Purpose :
Assist with building and managing relationships with energy and natural resource clients based in the US with particular focus on the Independent Oil & Gas Majors, GCC National Oil Companies, Oil field Services companies, and the Tier 1 commodity traders.
Work with US Head of Energy & Natural Resources Coverage, product partners and other country coverage bankers to identify, pitch, and execute product and services across FAB’s international network with a particular focus on the US, GCC, and Egypt.
Assist with the management of all aspects of the client portfolio including credit risk management, KYC / reputational risk, client planning, and product and service origination.
Key Accountabilities :
Management of customer relationships :
- Develop and maintain up-to-date client plans which detail cross-sale targets across FAB’s full geographic and product network.
- Work with product partners to identify, originate, and execute new products and services with particular focus on trade finance, project finance, working capital solutions, cash management, and risk management solutions.
- Help establishing client and sector appetite in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate and resolve conflicts and / or customer support issue as they arise.
Risk Management :
- Act as first line of defense for the Bank.
- Conduct client due diligence and reviews per process. Ownership of client KYCs.
- Monitor and maintain the credit quality of the portfolio under management.
- Keep Senior Business and Risk management apprised of key sector trends.
- Oversee the credit approval process and ensure proper business support is obtained for all new extensions of credit.
- Maintain customer knowledge and documentation up to standards, including call reports.
Internal Collaboration and Coordination :
Identify, mobilize, and deliver the right people, solutions, resources, and ideas to the clients from across the Bank.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience
Minimum 5 / 7 years of ENR customer-facing experience within an International Bank
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree; CFA and / or MBA a plus
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of the US ENR industry landscape.
- Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, particularly trade finance, commodity finance and structured finance (prepayments, pre-financing facilities), and experience in negotiating terms and conditions with customers.
- Experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing term sheets and facility agreements.
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Strong Financial and credit analysis skills
- Familiarity with different financing structures such as borrowing base and Project and Export Finance.
- Teamplayer, no silo attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, adaptable to change.
- Ability to keep a 360 view of clients without losing sight of important details.
- Ability to work efficiently in complex cross-border international environments.
