Security Officer - Flex TWIC Access

As a Security Officer - Flex TWIC Access in CHANNAHON, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical / Petrochemical, and more.

As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availabilitygiving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. Whether you're looking to supplement your income or take the first step toward a full-time role, this position offers unmatched access to hands-on experience and growth opportunities. As an Access Control professional with Allied Universal at a chemical or petrochemical location, you will help to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entry points, checking credentials, and managing badge access. Your presence and attention to detail will contribute to a secure environment for all personnel. You will perform routine patrols, interact with visitors and staff, and provide exceptional customer service while utilizing technology such as alarm panels and access control systems. This is a Part Time Position and Not Eligible for Health Benefits or 401k

Pay Rate : $18.75 / Hour

Job Schedule :

DayTimeFri03 : 00 PM - 11 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Control access to the location by verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles as required by site-specific protocols.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and / or suspicious activity within the chemical or petrochemical environment.
  • Perform regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to observe and report any irregularities or security-related concerns.
  • Provide customer service to clients, guests, and employees by responding to inquiries and assisting with security-related procedures.
  • Follow site-specific policies and procedures related to security and access control.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues as directed by established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of incidents, access control activities, and other security-related events.
  • Collaborate with Allied Universal management and onsite staff to support emergency response and / or evacuation procedures when appropriate.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • Experience with access control systems and / or badge management is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panel systems is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
