The responsibilities of the Head of Operations / Operations Director role are as follows :
- Support the GM and SLT in driving production optimization across all areas of the facility
- Support P&L management and ensure cost control across all production areas
- Contributing to the corporate strategy in production, supply and delivery performance
- Developing and controlling budgets to ensure resources are allocated in line with objectives
- Leading the manufacturing engineering, production and maintenance function in lean activities such as cycle time reduction, waste elimination, and yield optimization
- Lead multi-site CapEX projects to enable production improvements
- Leading production to ensure all products meet high quality standards and all customer orders are met on time and in full
- Overseeing supply chain to ensure supply of goods / materials / services supports production targets and within cost parameters
- Foster a positive culture within all operations, leading, motivating and developing all teams to encourage optimum performance
- Encouraging a culture of continuous improvement within operational areas
The experience required for the Head of Operations / Operations Director position are as follows :
- Degree qualified, apprenticeship or equivalent experience
- Extensive operations management experience
- Excellent leadership and inter-personal skills
- Knowledge of business functions, including supply chain, quality, manufacturing, stores, logistics
- Analytical skills to evaluate data to guide decision-making
- Excellent organisational and negotiation skills
