Job Summary : The Account Manager will manage the renewal and marketing process, prepare presentations and communication materials and assist team members with day-to-day client servicing.
While in this role, the Account Manager should be developing relationships with clients and carrier contacts and working proactively to effectively and efficiently deliver services to clients.
Responsible for managing and retaining clients within their book of business, while delivering superior customer service to all external and internal clients.
Responsibilities :
- Manage the Renewal / Marketing Process
- Gather vendor information and / or information from clients for marketing purpose
- Organize data into BDC format
- Prepare RFP and send to carriers
- Prepare proposal data into BDC format
- Prepares client meeting presentations and client executive summaries, reviews for accuracy.
- Help coordinate the implementation of new plans and / or the continuation of current plans and contract changes.
- Strategize with the broker for Preparation and yearly maintenance of client communications such as Open Enrollment materials and Employee Benefits Guides;
Attend Open Enrollment meetings.
- Review benefit plan summaries, summary plan documents, master plan documents and carrier source documents for accuracy.
- Assist Account Teams in day-to-day client servicing by fielding specific client questions as well as claim issues.
- Understand, interpret and articulate carrier and vendor responses to clients.
- Develop effective relationships with client and carrier contacts.
- Prepare and analyze client benchmarking reports, as well as monitor monthly claims reports.
- Maintain and track client strategy calendars, deliverables, open items and internal BDC client templates.
- Research compliance issues and questions. Serve as knowledgeable resource for clients in areas of eligibility, claims, COBRA, underwriting guidelines and employee benefits compliance.
- Ensures all compliance documents and contracts are completed on time and kept updated per regulatory requirements including Section 125 plans, SPD, FSA, HRA, HSA, CAA including Gag clause and transparency rules and form 5500 filings.
- Perform follow up with clients and team members on action plans to ensure decisions are implemented, contracts prepared, and appropriate parties notified.
- Assist in coordination of client wellness deliverables, including fairs and flu shot clinics.
- Complete both Admin renewal worksheet, final rate sheet and abstract per group.
- Provide all renewal documents to clients.
- Participate in all webinars and continuing education classes that apply to account management job.
- Maintain all Business Associate Agreements.
- Responsible for running all fully insured quotes.
- Present renewals, recommend benefit plan options, and confirm client decisions for designated accounts.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- Active Life and Health Insurance License
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including correct grammar, spelling and punctuation in correspondence
- High degree of critical thinking ability to problem solve when the answer is not readily apparent
- Understanding of self-insurance unbundled concepts and applicable law as it relates to employee benefits
- Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to demonstrate advanced level proficiency with a variety of technology including MS office
- Works well with minimum supervision, able to function independently and as part of a team
Education / Experience :
- Three years' experience servicing employee benefit clients in the small and self-funded group segment
- Minimum one year experience presenting information in a group setting
- High school diploma or equivalent
Pay Details :
Annual Salary : $47,500 - $55,000
