About the Role
DoorDash is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Fulfillment Efficiency engineering team. This team is responsible for driving fulfillment cost goals, improving Dasher experience as well as building trust and reliability with our consumers across our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and Retail businesses.
As an Engineering Manager, you will partner closely with stakeholders to improve the quality of items picked by associates or Dashers, while keeping efficiency and cost as baseline and driving execution of projects that help achieve our top line goals.

- Lead and grow a full-stack team of exceptional backend and client-side engineers delivering end-to-end engineering solutions
- Work on zero to one projects that will significantly improve top line growth of our emerging New Verticals business
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Product ops partners, UX design leads, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap
- Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 8+
- Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking
- Oversee the hiring process for your team, in partnership with recruiting, to grow a diverse and inclusive team

We're excited about you because you have
- BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
- 2+ years of experience in people management leading full-stack teams (backend, web, & mobile) of 5+ engineers
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
- Experience with distributed system design, system scaling, and performance optimization
- Hands-on leadership, strong product intuition, and deep care for the customer
