We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join the Spencer Ogden team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering or a related field and experience in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation.
This role involves working closely with engineers, scientists, and other stakeholders to produce manuals, safety guidelines, product datasheets, and other technical documents.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, write, and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), safety guidelines, and product datasheets.
- Collaborate with engineers, chemists, and other technical staff to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Translate complex technical information into easily understandable content for various audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Edit, revise, and update existing documentation to reflect new processes, products, and regulations.
- Manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct thorough reviews and testing of documentation to ensure clarity, accuracy, and usability.
- Create visual aids, such as charts, diagrams, and tables, to enhance understanding of the documentation.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in technical writing and chemical manufacturing.
- Provide support for training materials and presentations as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a technical writer in the chemical manufacturing industry or a similar technical field.
- Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and specialized software like Visio
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards related to chemical manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, REACH, GHS).
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems.
- Knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
- Certification in technical writing (e.g., from the Society for Technical Communication).
