JOB SUMMARY
As the Inside Sales Manager, you have a key position within the global commercial group overseeing the Proposal Engineers and Sales Associates team.
This role will focus on managing, coaching and providing guidance as they balance their priorities and workload in support of all four segments across all regions.
The Proposal Engineers and Sales Associates comprise our inside sales function and are a critical part of our Team Selling approach who, along with the Commercial Managers and Technical Sales Managers, handle all aspects of the sales process from initial lead through the quotation stage to contracting and hand-off to operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly Manage the Sales Associates (SA), Proposal Engineer (PE) teams, coach and guide them as they perform duties and responsibilities.
- Support and promote the team selling approach.
- Support and promote the S&OP Process.
- Help develop standards and procedures that facilitate the institutionalization of individual knowledge and experience.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales Operations Analyst and Cost Estimator roles to provide an aligned approach to Sales Processes, Workflows and Tools with the overall purpose of maximizing enterprise efficiency.
- In conjunction with sales management help build out procedures, define tasks and implement oversight, assessment and feedback to facilitate real time corrective action and maintain high quality output.
- Communicate regularly with commercial and technical leads within the sales team to understand segmental and regional needs.
Develop specific strategies per individuals and teams to increase engagement and productivity within the Proposal Engineer and Sales Associate functions.
- Oversee onboarding, training, and professional development of the SA and PE teams.
- Help manage the SA and PE teams’ participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a group of four or more members with a track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve success.
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or other related fields.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with peers and direct reports.
- Familiarity with cost estimates, technical proposals and proposal management processes.
- SAP experience, SAPB1 preferred
- CRM / Salesforce experience preferred
- Knowledge of computers and applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel either internationally or domestically up to 25% of the time.
- Must be able to communicate in English fluently. Ability to communicate in a second language European or Asian languages is a plus.
