Role Summary :

The Senior Staff System Integration Engineer Core Services is responsible for spearheading and overseeing the integration of middleware and core services for CARIAD’s Software Defined Vehicle (SDV).

This individual will need strong technical skills, be a versatile engineer with a systems-level approach to problem-solving and be able to deliver vehicles with reliable hardware and software systems in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities :

Middleware Integration Efforts

  • Lead integration efforts for SDV middleware software running on different platforms.
  • Lead and spearhead telemetry, logging, and diagnostics for the various subsystems within SDV.
  • Ensure E2E functionality and performance of core services at subsystem and vehicle level.
  • Ensure the stability of software stack running across platforms.

Test and Validation Efforts

  • Lead efforts for test, validate, and debug middleware s / w stack issues.
  • Lead development and maintenance test assets such as benches, HILs, and Labcar used for system integration.
  • Integrate and test software in the Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI / CD) pipeline.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive software development solutions.
  • Lead the establishment of software integration process in collaboration with development teams.

General Skills :

  • Proficient in agile software development environment.
  • Analytical and debugging skills.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Collaborate and work with multiple teams across geographies and time zones.

Required Specialized Skills :

  • Development of software and hardware integration workflow in a software-defined environment
  • Proven track record of shepherding automotive systems from inception to production.
  • Proven track record of integrating telemetry, logging, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience in embedded systems test and development.
  • Proficient with CAN, LIN, Automotive ETH.
  • Experience with PCAPs, Wireshark, CANoe, CANdb++, etc.
  • Proficient in agile software development environment.

Desired Skills :

Functional leadership experience in vehicle feature development life cycle

Workplace Flexibility :

  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally when required
  • Occasional extended working hours as needed

Years of Relevant Experience :

10+ years related experience in software integration or equivalent

Required Education :

BS in computer science, robotics, physics, engineering, numerical modeling or a related subject with outstanding grades or equivalent work experience

Desired Education :

MS in computer science, robotics, physics, engineering, numerical modeling or a related subject with outstanding grades or equivalent work experience

Compensation

Salary range is dependent on factors such as geographical differentials, credentials or certifications, industry-based experience, qualification and training.

In the city of Mountain View, California, the salary range for this position is $149,000 - 193,500.
