Position Purpose :
We are seeking an addiction counselor to work with the criminal justice population and our outpatient team to provide addiction treatment services in the Boone County jail setting and in the community. This position is responsible for being the primary counselor for clients with substance use disorders and includes assessments, outpatient continued care groups, case management, and a collaborative relationship with the Boone County Behavioral Health Task Force and associated partners. The ideal candidate has a passion for this population and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field, or equivalent experience and training required
- Master's Preferred
- Illinois Certified Addiction Counselor (CADC), or licensed in Illinois as a LSW or LPC which supersedes the CADC within 2 years of employment in substance used disorder services.

Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and / or family members in the Boone County jail and the communityComplete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within required time frame.Facilitate the Restorative Program within local school districts in partnership with the Boone County Drug Prevention CoalitionIdentify client clinical and case management needs and work to address those needs as part of the COAR (Community, Outreach, Advocacy, Recovery) teamEducate client and client support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.Ensure that documentation in client service record is maintained consistent with expectations defined by SUPR, TJC and Medicaid regulations.Maintain communication with all staff and community partners (e.g. admissions, case management and discharge plans).Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, and staff and community groups.Be familiar with court proceedings and be available to make caseload related court appearances and communicate with Boone County drug court and probationServe as a member of the COAR team and participate in all team meetings and activities.Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.Schedule :

Compensation & Rewards
Starting Pay (based on education, experience, and credentials)Starting rate for Bachelors - $27.37 / hourStarting rate for Masters - $31.10 / hourIncentives :Additional Pay Enhancements in addition to Base Salary :Professional Certification (e.g., CADC, CRSS, or CPS) : +$0.72 / hour (equivalent of +$1,500 annualized)
