As the business continues to reach toward our next level of organizational maturity, we are looking for an experienced and highly talented candidate to join the company as the Regional Engineering Manager located in the Provo / Springville, UT area.
Job Summary :
Lead a mission-driven engineering function / team to ensure we continue to deliver quality products with outstanding service while creating an environment where people can be great at what they do and proud of what they have done.
This includes oversight of projects and process improvements related to design, new product development, and improvement of existing product lines.
Essential Functions
- Oversee key projects and process improvements within the Engineering team.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the plant-specific Engineering team, including making assignments, giving direction and guidance, and providing performance feedback.
- Provide opportunities for employee development to ensure continuous improvement and allow for growth and retention of high performing talent within the organization.
- Review and analyze proposals for new projects to ensure safety, ergonomics, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness are taken into consideration.
- In conjunction with Operations and Quality, provide oversight for process improvements and new product development.
- Support plant-specific engineers in the root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for quality concerns when necessary to support continuous improvement.
- Design, verify, build, and validate new products, as well as improvements to existing products.
- Drive continuous improvement across assigned manufacturing plants through process improvements and the use of Quality Systems including 5S / Lean and Six-Sigma.
- Direct, review, and approve product design and changes.
- Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred, or a related field with relevant experience.
- Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other engineering software (Inventor preferred).
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership position is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
