Research Technician I, Department of Oral Biology

Position Summary

A Research Technician I position will be available at the , UB. The laboratory conducts research in the areas of inflammation related to periodontal disease.

Position duties will include :

• Maintain animal (mouse) colony : including breeding, genotyping;
• Sampling of specimens;
• Preparing specimens for histology;
• Histological and molecular (mRNA and protein expression) analyses;
• Microscopic recording (imaging)

• Requires education in a specific field and at least one year of experience directly related to the research or the program.
• Prior experience working in a research laboratory and ability to work independently.
• Ability to troubleshoot laboratory protocols.
• Competence in molecular biology techniques including DNA and RNA extraction and qPCR.
• Experience working with Word, Excel, Power Point and basic imaging software.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related life sciences.

Physical Demands Salary Range $33,481 - $35,000 Additional Salary Information The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
