CPA firm centered around the client experience and creating value is seeking an experienced Remote Tax Manager to join their autonomous and collaborative environment.
The Remote Tax Manager will support the firm's mission of providing Virtual CFO, accounting, tax, tax controversy & resolution, and fraud & forensic investigation services to business and individual clients.

Qualifications and Experience
- At least 6 years of tax and accounting experience in a CPA firm
- Licensed CPA or EA
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams and multiple projects and clients
- High proficiency with tax, accounting, and office software
- Extensive individual / corporate / partnership tax knowledge. Trust experience tax knowledge a plus. Expertise in tax code, compliance and procedures with business clients
- Self accountable and detail-oriented
Responsibilities
- Own tax planning and tax return preparation for clients and collaborate with nternal accounting and VCFO teams to deliver a holistic service to clients
- Coach, mentor, and manage a team of tax professionals
- Review tax returns and other work prepared by tax department team members for accuracy and alignment with established client tax strategy, savings opportunities, and compliance with tax law
- Prepare complex tax returns as needed
- Research and consult on complex tax matters
- Ensure accuracy and quality control of all tax work
- Meet with key clients to review tax, adjust and optimize tax strategy, and feed learnings into processes
- Identify and offer additional client service opportunities
- Oversee the operationalization of technology, processes, and KPIs for the tax team
- Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date client tax records
- Maintain confidentiality with personal and sensitive data
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning with management
- Participate in continuing education, study existing and new federal, state, and local legislation, and achieve required annual CPE credits
