Destination Desserts, the gourmet dessert bakery and food truck, is looking for an experienced, quality-focused prep cook and baker's assistant.

JOB TITLE : Baker's Assistant - Destination Desserts

JOB CLASSIFICATION : Seasonal, Variable hours; Non-exempt

REPORTS TO : Destination Desserts Head Chef

JOB PURPOSE : Prepare quality baked products for Destination Desserts.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Read a recipe.
• Find and measure ingredients.
• Mix ingredients by hand, in the order listed on recipe.
• Mix ingredients in mixer, in the order listed on recipe.
• Deposit the dough on the sheet pans.
• Turn on ovens to proper temperature.
• Set baking timers to the correct time and turn them on / off as needed.
• Put sheet pans in ovens and remove them into rolling racks.
• Remove baked goods from pan.
• Package baked goods as appropriate.
• Wash, dry and store dishes.
• Ensure that only the highest quality Destination Desserts product is stored and served. 13. Assure compliance and maintain standards as outlined by the Health Department as well as appropriate federal, state and local regulations.
• Maintain clean and orderly environment.
• All other jobs responsibilities as specified by supervisor.
• Familiarize self with and follow facility and department policies and procedures.
• Follow all personnel policies.
• Oversee kitchen when the Head Chef is away from the kitchen.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS / ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :

• Ability to pick up 10 to 20 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to work standing up for a long period of time.
• Ability to work in various temperatures and weather conditions.
• Ability to work around various fumes and scents.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 2 Years food service and customer service experience preferred.

MISCELLANEOUS : Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to be very flexible highly preferred. Must have a reliable transportation and have the availability to work days, evenings, nights and weekends.

CPR certification and first aid training required (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).
