SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Oracle Utilities Functional Consultant. Design solutions, write functional specifications, create, and execute test cases, and implement features for Oracle Utilities solutions;
provide utility clients with industry best practices and subject matter expertise for Oracle Utilities solutions; Conduct business process analysis & business requirement gathering sessions with clients.
Must possess bachelor’s or foreign degree equivalent in computer engineering or computer science plus 5 years progressively responsible work experience in IT environment and software projects working in the utility industry using Billing and Master Data Management systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Interface with functional users (business, IT, etc) to define and document functional requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise in assigned core business unit function and / or business intelligence functions (including but not limited to process improvement, data mining / gathering / quality assessment, reporting, data visualization, etc.)
- Develop, plan, coordinate and execute System Integrated Testing
- Provide application analysis for Information Technology and client base.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the system and make recommendations on how users can best utilize the product to accomplish their functional objectives.
- Work with business units to deliver completely implemented solutions to the end user community by leveraging best practices of the core applications.
- Conduct client training on new or revised processes, procedures, and computer-based applications.
- Create various business documents, future business processes, functional and configuration documents that adhere to project standards.
- Conduct business process analysis & business requirement gathering sessions with clients.
- Assist in business processes development per business requirements and create business scenarios.
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand business processes to translate into technical requirements and designs.
- Document and analyze business processes and develop detailed user requirement and functional specification documents.
- Identify & document gaps between system and business processes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) :
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of business administration, finance, or information systems or five to seven years related work experience.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Windows office systems.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Ability to continue education on structured methodologies such as FADE, SDLC, Agile, and other best practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE) :
- Configuration experience with Oracle Utilities Suite : Customer Care and Billing (CC&B), Meter Data Management (MDM), Service Order Management (SOM) and Operational Device Management (ODM) preferred.
- Experience in Customer Information Systems, preferably in utility industry or industry with similar functionality.
- Experience with customer portal systems such as interactive voice response or website self-service.
