Overview :
Responsible for the recruitment, training, coordination, scheduling and supervising volunteers. Assists in the development and design of volunteer programs and activities.
Attends and participates in lectures and business meetings addressing volunteer programs.
Responsibilities :
Develops, with the input of other center staff, service assignments and service descriptions for volunteers; revises same based on a regular review of programs and assessment needs.
Recruitment of volunteers by researching and outreach to community resources. Disseminating volunteer information in person, letter or pamphlet form, and online resources.
Interview prospective volunteers. Responsible for coordination of appropriate onboarding policies and procedures, including medical clearances, background checks, references and other related documents.
Create and assist with training protocols for volunteers.
Coordinate placement of volunteers; maintain and update schedules.
Coordinate volunteer support meetings.
Monitor visits of outside organizations for evaluation purposes.
Develop volunteer staff through coaching, counseling, and disciplining volunteers; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Accomplish deliverables by planning, monitoring, and appraising results of volunteer engagement.
Attend lectures and business meetings addressing volunteer programs.
Serve as subject matter expert and generally works on most complex assignments as well as performing supervisory duties.
Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing controls and equipment.
Monitor staff work, implementing programs and procedures, prepare reports and identify issues or potential road blocks for production and efficiency.
Recommend solutions to manager for long-term fix.
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing standards.
Ensure operation of equipment, call for repair maintenance as necessary.
Provide information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing performance and data. Answer questions and respond to requests.
Create and revise systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
Maintain safe and clean work environment, educate staff and those supported.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Light typing required for minimal correspondence, reports and statistical data.
Supervise the day to day activities of the department.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
Associate’s Degree required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Education requirement may be offset with significant experience in profession.
Experience :
Minimum three (3) years' experience in Healthcare personnel, teaching, public relations, and / or social work.
Minimum one (1) year in a supervisory role.
Knowledge and Skills :
Strong technical knowledge of the area being managed, often serves as the subject matter expert.
Ability to direct and oversee the work of others.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;
benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Ability to be decisive based on prior experience and interprets regulations / policy.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer knowledge.
Licenses, Certifications :
Volunteer Management Certificate preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Consistent with that necessary to work in a variety of patient care and office settings.
Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
