Sr Automotive Hardware and RF Engineer
SUMMARY
Based in Qorvo, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, part of the Automotive Connectivity BU and within the Secure Access group, the Sr Automotive Hardware and RF Engineer will contribute to the development and implementation of UWB Hardware evaluation boards, kits, reference designs and customer solutions dedicated to Qorvo UWB Auto applications and related products.
This person will provide technical support to BU’s customers mainly automotive tier-1 suppliers, car OEMs and wireless module manufacturers.
In this role, this person will develop reusable solutions, with customer satisfaction in mind. The solution will enable our customers implementing Qorvo’s Ultra-Wideband wireless technology in their automotive applications, focusing on digital key, precise localization systems, communication modules and infotainment, thereby contributing to securing design-wins for Qorvo and ultimately driving revenue for the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive IC evaluation board definition and direct development of contracting.
Drive Hardware Kits definition and direct development of contracting.
Provide HW and RF technical support & expertise to Qorvo customers for UWB ICs and solutions.
Participate in project follow up meetings internal & external - including weekly meetings with Qorvo local teams and customers as required.
Contribute to system level testing of the UWB ICs, Evaluation Boards and customer prototypes against applicable wireless standards, covering the physical layers and protocol layers.
Produce technical documentation to the highest standards to drive customer understanding of Qorvo technology and the optimum ways in which to use it in applications.
Support the team to develop Qorvo’s UWB software know-how related to Automotive applications.
Interact with lead software architect, software integration manager and IC design team.
Contribute to Customer acquisition and design win value.
Assist customers indirectly (through local Application team, sales, FAE teams, peers from other BUs and Qorvo partners) in their software integration and development, and in the design of their Qorvo-based automotive products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor or MSEE degree in a relevant hardware engineering discipline
10+ years of relevant industry experience
Hands-on expertise with Hardware design (PCB)
Hands-on expertise with RF design and antenna characterization
Hands-on expertise with RF lab equipment
Fluent with PC tools like Python and several standard libraries (NumPy, pyserial, etc..)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with network MAC, security, and radio communication software layers (such as 802-15-4, FiRa, CCC )
Experience with CAN, NFC and Secure Elements
Knowledge of UWB technology would be a plus.
Experience in Software Development would be a plus.
