Role Summary :

We are seeking an Assistant General Counsel - Product to join our General Counsel's Office. This role is a great opportunity to support Thomson Reuters' Product, Technology and Marketing teams and provide legal counsel on a broad range of issues related to Thomson Reuters' product and services.

The role will allow for the opportunity to assist on a variety of strategic initiatives involving new product and feature development, launching new marketing campaigns and the impact of new areas of law.

The position will be based either in our US Offices in Minneapolis, Dallas or New York or in our Canadian office in Toronto.

About the Role

• In this opportunity as Assistant General Counsel - Product , you will :
• Advise key partners across Thomson Reuters' Product, Technology and Marketing teams on all aspects of the product-lifecycle from inception to the launch of new products, features and functionality across Thomson Reuters' suite of products and services, including identifying legal and business reputation risks.
• Review and advise on marketing campaigns and product and sales communication strategies, including reviewing marketing assets and updates across Thomson Reuters' digital properties.
• Establish and implement compliance best practices by keeping up-to-date on applicable artificial intelligence, consumer protection, advertising and intellectual property laws and regulations.
• Provide guidance on product partnerships and integrations in connection with strategic partnership and co-development arrangements.
• Develop and maintain training materials and other legal resources for use by your business partners.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Assistant General Counsel - Product , if you have :

• Juris Doctor; Admitted or eligible to practice law in Minnesota, Texas or New York and in good standing.
• Experience in a technical discipline a plus.
• 6+ years' experience in a large firm and / or corporate setting specializing in providing counsel on product matters, consumer protection and / or technology transactions.
• Familiarity with global advertising laws and regulations, artificial intelligence regulations, intellectual property law and consumer protection laws.
• Collaborative by being a trusted partner who can help the Product, Technology and Marketing teams appropriately balance risk and make decisions that promote the long-term interests of Thomson Reuters.
• Process-oriented by being able to build and scale internal processes, documentation, and systems.
• Initiative and creativity in seeking solutions to problems.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team.
• Experience in managing attorneys a plus.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations : Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC.

The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $173,300 - $321,800. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states : CA, CO, CT, IL, NV, TX, WA and / or remote.

The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $157,500 - $292,500. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states : KS, MI, MN, NY, VA.

The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $149,700 - $277,900. The base compensation range in other locations may vary.

This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity.

Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
