Job Description
Coffman Engineers is seeking a highly-skilled, outgoing, self-motivated Senior Civil Engineer with at least 10 years of experience to expand the civil engineering department in the Los Angeles office.
Applicants must be well versed in all aspects of civil engineering land development, including project management, multidiscipline coordination, site layouts, grading plans, storm water management facilities, low impact design, water quality best management practices, and utilities.
Experience with public utility projects and / or Los Angeles experience will be looked upon favorably.
The successful individual will be assisting our business development team and other discipline leads in developing technical proposals, and take a proactive lead role in marketing commercial, institutional, and industrial clients.
You must be able to market team capabilities as well as perform technical design and consulting services to a high level of satisfaction to a diverse group of clients.
Compensation and Benefits :
- Approximate Base Salary - $130,000 - $160,000 annually
- Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate
- Competitive end of year discretionary bonus based on company / team / personal performance
- Hybrid Work Schedule (subject to change)
- 401k with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching for 9% Employee Contribution
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of U.S. professional experience (California preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- California Civil Engineer PE registration required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Strong project management skills are required
- Client management skills are required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coordinating with a multi-discipline design team
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and / or Revit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience collaborating with local architectural / engineering community is a strong plus
- Experience in AutoCAD / Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and other software is a plus
- Experience designing public utilities is a strong plus
- Experience serving as a prime consultant is a plus
- Business development experience
- Experience with zoning entitlements and permit procurement is a plus
- Ability to work with counterparts in other Coffman offices to share workload when required
- Experience with managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations
- Experience attending and participating in local professional organizations
- Experience with Energy Storage Systems
