Nursing Recruiter - Allen Hospital

Hybrid position - will require some days onsite
Full-time, Monday - Friday, Daytime hours
Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Recruits and refers qualified candidates for position vacancies by reviewing applications / resumes, reviewing references conducted, interviewing prospective employees, attending career and candidate events, and placing appropriate classified and internet advertising by following established guidelines.
- Conducts intake interviews with hiring leaders to gain an understanding of what a preferred candidate is in terms of skills and experience.
- Responsible for implementing creative recruitment strategies and solutions (e.g. social media, creative marketing, diversity outlets, etc.
to understand the best places to find the most qualified candidates, based on multiple factors such as geography, role / requisition, etc.
Uses discretion and judgment to determine and put in place best practices.
Extends all external and internal job offers to ensure departmental pay equity, compliance with affirmative action standards, while demonstrating an understanding of supply and demand of market-driven positions.
Ensures consistency when following practices established in collective bargaining agreements. (As applicable, based on affiliate.)
- Counsels internal and external candidates on career opportunities, as well as training and development and avenues for growth.
- Provides support and participates in TA related trainings.
- Responsible for on-going process improvements in recruitment, onboarding, employment, and diversity awareness.
- Participates in community outreach as a representative of UnityPoint Health in the way of mock interviewing, resumes writing seminars, junior and high school presentations, etc.
- Increase public awareness of UnityPoint Health by maintaining high profile with community business, education institutions, representation on city and other professional associations and social activities on an ongoing basis.
- Builds relationships and partnerships with talent acquisition team members system-wide to share in strategy, best practice and further solidify a one team approach.
Partners across the recruiting team to share requisition & candidate information, align recruitment approaches, and work together to share candidate slates to ensure hiring and placing candidates in the right roles and locations, as well as to avoid competing against each other in similar markets (e.
g. college recruiting, like roles, top talent, etc)
Maintains working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements (As applicable, based on affiliate)
Project Coordination for Strategic Initiatives
Develops, participates and drives projects and initiatives both within region and across the system to provide exposure, career growth, visibility, and opportunities to team members.
This may include projects around candidate pipelines that can be replicated in other regions, work study / internship programs, or affirmative action planning requests.
Conducts analysis of wage rates in partnership with compensation, hiring leaders and Human Resources Business Partners to ensure retention and internal equity when determining appropriate salary offers.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria

- Employee maintains current licenses and / or certifications required for the position.
- Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal / state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
- Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
- Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse.
Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field or equivalent experience required or equivalent of Associates Degree with 3+ years of talent acquisition / recruiter experience required.
Experience :
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in HR with an emphasis on recruitment or equivalent experience required.
- 1 years of experience conducting sourcing or passive candidate recruitment activities required.
- Prior healthcare recruitment or staffing company experience preferred.
- Prior training and development experience preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities :
- Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English required.
- Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser required.
- Multicultural sensitivity required.
- Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions required.
- Advanced reading, writing and oral skills required.
- Ability to utilize PC including, basic elements of Windows environment, keyboarding, work with mouse, and perform basic computer tasks with instruction required.
- Proficient in Lawson HRIS Systems preferred.
- Proficient in ICIMS Recruitment Software preferred.
Other :
- Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
- Work may occasionally require travel to other UPH facilities / hospitals.
- Required to drive your own vehicle for business purposes.
